Bharat Nirman Campaign in Puducherry

CM to inaugurate on Feb.26

 

Chennai, Feb. 24, 2007

 

        The Chief Minister of Puducherry Shri N Rangasamy will kick off the 13th  edition of Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Pudhucherry on February 26. He will also inaugurate a massive Info Expo being mounted by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at 45 Feet Road, Rainbow Nagar, Puducherry.

   

        The five day campaign will focus on Bharat Nirman, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural Health Mission, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Right to Information Act and other pioneering welfare schemes of the UPA government.


        As part of the campaign, Press Information Bureau, Chennai and the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity are jointly organizing an exhibition at Rainbow Nagar, Puducherry. Various Central and State government departments, public sector undertakings, non-governmental organizations and self help groups are showcasing their products and services at the exhibition.

 

        In addition, intensive grass-root level information dissemination campaign would be held at 30 villages in and around Puducherry. The Directorate of Field Publicity will be mounting the rural campaign employing multi media methods.

 

      Puducherry Ministers Shri V Vaithilingam, Shri Malladi Krishna Rao, Thiru M O H F Shahjahan, the Member of Parliament Shri V Narayasamy, Prof M Ramadoss  will also participate in the five day campaign.
